Net worth

Net worth, tracked without handing over a bank login

Every account in one place, assets less what you owe, and a timeline that shows the direction rather than only today’s number.

Available onUltra

What you get

Every account type

Chequing, savings, credit cards, cash and investments, with balances that roll up into one figure.

Debt counted properly

A credit card balance reduces net worth rather than sitting in a separate list, which is the only way the total means anything.

A timeline, not a snapshot

Month over month movement, because the direction of travel matters more than a single reading.

Beside your contribution room

Registered balances sit next to the RRSP, TFSA and FHSA room that applies to them.

How it works

  1. Add your accounts

Type, name and current balance. No credentials, no aggregator connection.

  2. Update when it suits you

Balances are yours to update. Monthly is enough for a timeline to be useful.

  3. Watch the direction

The timeline turns a set of balances into a trend you can act on.

Manual balances, and why they are enough

A net-worth figure does not need to be live to be useful. Updated monthly it still shows whether the direction is right, which is the question the number exists to answer, and it avoids handing banking credentials to an aggregator to get a decimal place you will not act on. Investment values move daily anyway, so a figure that is precise to the minute creates a false impression of precision about a number that is inherently an estimate.

Common questions

  • Which plan includes the net-worth timeline?

Ultra. Accounts and their balances are tracked on every plan; the timeline that charts net worth over months is the Ultra part.

  • Do balances update automatically?

No. You update them, because MapleTrack does not connect to banks and never holds your login. Monthly updates are enough for the timeline to be meaningful.

  • Are credit cards and loans included?

Yes. Amounts owed are subtracted from assets, so the total is genuine net worth rather than a list of balances.

  • Can a household see one combined net worth?

Yes. Accounts are household-scoped, so 2 to 4 members roll up into one figure, while anything marked private stays out of the shared view.
